Hi, my name is Rick Manassas.
I’m a typical husband and father who works long hours and enjoys spending time with his family. Among many other interests, I have a strong passion for nutrition and health, but I’m definitely not one of those over-the-top nutritionists who advocates vegetarian or vegan diets. I’m actually a very down to earth guy who enjoys good food just like everyone else.

My approach to health and weight loss is to look for manageable lifestyle changes, rather than harsh diets and exercise programs that are dangerous or difficult to maintain. Let’s face it, if a diet or exercise routine is too strict, temptation will eventually get the better of us. And there are too many diets on the market that are simply dangerous. That’s why I feel it’s important to choose diets and exercise that are healthy, realistic and manageable.  

Every year there are a slew of new fad diets, exercise programs and contraptions introduced to the market that promise to shed pounds and inches in an unbelieveably short amount of time. The advertisements play on people’s emotions by promising impossible results. And year after year many people continue to spend their hard-earned money on these programs, desperately looking for a miracle. And year after year they’re left feeling disappointed and helpless.

My motivation for creating this blog is to promote better choices for people who want to lose weight, get in shape, improve their health and improve their lives.
